Students in Good Standing
Admitted undergraduate students who interrupt their college work for two semesters (excluding summer terms) must call the Office of Admission to reactivate their admitted student status.
Students who return after more than two semesters of absence, must contact the Office of Admission to apply for readmission. No application fee is required. If any additional college work was completed at another institution since leaving Saint Xavier University, an official transcript(s) should be sent to the Office of Admission. Readmitted students are bound by the provisions of the University catalog that is in use at the time of their readmission.
Students on Academic and/or Financial Aid Probation
Students who left the University while on academic and/or financial aid probation must contact the Office of Admission to apply for readmission. A student who left the University while on academic probation would be placed on academic probation if readmitted. The student must maintain at least a 2.0 grade-point average during the first semester after readmission in order to regain good standing.
Amnesty Policy
For the purpose of financial aid, including academic scholarships and graduation with honors, grades earned at Saint Xavier University five years or more before returning to the University will not be calculated in the cumulative grade-point average. If you wish to apply the amnesty policy to your academic record, submit a request in writing to the Office of Records and Registration.
Dismissed Students
A student who was dismissed from SXU for academic reasons will not be eligible to apply for readmission to Saint Xavier University for one semester following such action. Usually this student should demonstrate successful academic work elsewhere between the time of dismissal and reapplication. A student who would be considered for readmission ordinarily would have completed 12 semester-hours of college work with at least a 2.2 grade-point average at another institution. The Admission Committee may stipulate conditions for readmission.
