Student Life

The Department of Student Life sponsors programs and services designed to enhance students' involvement in the SXU community, thus supporting their academic, social, and community engagement. Student Life oversees: Class Programs, Student Activities and Registered Student Organizations, as well as Leadership and Multicultural Programs. Within each of these areas, we seek to provide resources, programs and services that enrich and support students' educational experiences, help them develop positive connections with peers, staff and faculty and to become active and engaged members of the SXU community. By participating in the events, programs, trainings and services offered by the Department of Student Life, students learn to create programs and services for their peers and grow and develop as life-long learners and leaders.

Leadership includes both individual and organizational leadership development activities, such as direct advisement and supervision of RSOs and student leadership positions as well as trainings and workshops

Multicultural Programs offered by the Department include heritage month celebrations and multicultural programming for the entire SXU community.

Class Programs plans and executes FOCUS, Parent and Transfer Student Orientation, First Day for First-Years, Welcome Weeks, works collaboratively with the General Education program to develop and execute Transitions and hires, trains and supervises our Orientation Leaders (OLs) and Transitions Peer Mentors (TPMs).
